SRI SUMMER PROGRAM
The SRI summer program encompasses five weeks during the months of July and August. The rationale behind providing time and programming for students over the Summer was to further develop curricular elements focused on STEM project-product development.
Currently, the program integrates a variety of STEM disciplines with a strong Materials Science foundation and the curriculum is differentiated for varied experience levels and age of student participants. SRI developed curriculum focused on integrating scientific disciplines of student interest in a research setting for middle and secondary students. Additionally, core subject experts in Mathematical, Statistical, English-Language Arts, English Language Learners (ELL), Special and Gifted Education and a Library Media Specialist are integrated to encompass the broad skill set necessary to create an entrepreneurial, globally competitive educational environment.
AFTER-SCHOOL STUDENT TRAINING
SRI provides mentored independent laboratory time for all SRI participants. High school and middle school teachers, along with college undergraduate students from Albright College, are available for individual project-product development.
